Erleen Elevated to Fellow of the American Institute of Architects

The American Institute of Architects has elevated Erleen to its College of Fellows. With the prestigious distinction, the AIA recognizes Erleen for her career-long commitment and notable contributions to the advancement of the profession of architecture. She will be honored alongside the full class of 2024 fellows at the AIA Awards Gala on June 7 at the National Building Museum in Washington D.C.

The building, overlooking the Mississippi River, will bring a new inclusive home for Memphis’s oldest and largest arts institution. Hatfield Group is working as structural engineers on the building, which is being designed by Herzog & de Mueron and archimania.

Hatfield Group has officially signed the Structural Engineering Institute's SE2050 Commitment, one of the most ambitious sustainability initiatives in the AEC industry. The pledge supports the Carbon Leadership Form's 2050 Challenge and aims to minimize embodied carbon in buildings. As part of Hatfield Group's commitment, we have named Principal Rebecca Jones our Embodied Carbon Champion. Avra opens at rockefeller center

Our latest project brings Avra—a longtime staple of New York City's culinary scene—to a signature new location at Rockefeller Center. Working with Rockwell Group and SRA A+E, we opened up a soaring three-level space for the restaurant and added a showpiece staircase and mezzanine. Hatfield Group is proud to be collaborating with Herzog & de Meuron on the Brooks Museum of Art, a transformative project for Memphis and a cornerstone of the city's initiative to reinvigorate the Mississippi River waterfront. Among other holdings, the new building will showcase the museum's collection of African American art, helping it become—in the words of Adriane Johnson-Williams, "a museum for all of Memphis." The 18-story residential development in East Orange, NJ, will bring 213 contemporary apartments to the up-and-coming neighborhood, located just 25 minutes by train from New York City. NYC DEPARTMENT OF BUILDINGS - CODE REVISIONS

The New York City Department of Buildings is mandated to keep the City’s Construction Codes up-to-date with the latest version of the International Code Council Codes (I-Codes).  The Department has organized a series of Committees to assist with drafting revisions to the New York City Construction Codes.  Erleen Hatfield, is the chair of the Steel Panel, which reviews and updates Chapter 22 Steel, of the NYC Building Code.

AIA NEBRASKA ANNUAL CONFERENCE | KEYNOTE

Hatfield Group’s Erleen Hatfield, PE gave the keynote address at the 2018 AIA Nebraska Annual Conference on September 20, 2018. Her talk, titled “Structuring Better Communities” focused on density, sustainability, and community engagement.She shared insights from her perspective as a structural engineer discussing structures, their designs, and impact on the urban landscape. She discussed new approaches to maximize density, improve community engagement, and new methods to creating more sustainable buildings.

FORMER INDUSTRIAL SITE TO BECOME GREEN CONDOMINIUMS

Hatfield Group is providing services for a new mixed-use building at 510 Driggs Avenue, designed by New York architects Woods Bagot.  Silver masonry and steel-framed windows create a bold-lined rectilinear facade. The new look also incorporates 25 private terraces overlooking the street, and shared terraces on the fourth, sixth, and seventh floors.  Completion is expected by the first quarter of 2020.

 
 

VENUES NOW MAGAZINE FEATURES HATFIELD GROUP

New York-based Hatfield Group partners with Christopher Lamberth, Associate AIA, a former vice president and marketing principal at HOK.  In addition to Lamberth, Hatfield Group welcomes partner Martin Finio, FAIA an architect with 20 years of experience. Finio’s role is to serve as a liaison between the architects and the engineers to make sure things work properly in the design process.
